LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Lucky Dragon Hotel is now closed. Tuesday was the last day for hotel employees. Since it opened in November of 2016, the resort has had its financial troubles. Plans for the $139 million Lucky Dragon project came to pass around 2012, when approvals to build were sought. The first signs of life came to the site about a year ago when Penta Building Group of Las Vegas poured the concrete foundation to the nine-story, 204-room project. Looks good, not as excited for this as I am for Resorts World. That's obvious because this is a small boutique hotel with not much to offer (that I can't find anywhere else on the Strip), whereas RW will be a huge megaresort with attractions like (supposedly) the water park, Panda Exhibit, observation tower, rooftop entertainment (similar to Sands Singapore) and more.

The Lucky Dragon aims to be the “first casino resort to deliver an authentic Asian lifestyle experience” in Las Vegas, the project’s statement said. Its features will include signs in Chinese first and English second, multilingual staff members and a high-end tea garden.
